This is certainly fantastic news. The first song "Distance" from the upcoming Emmon album has just been made available on Wonderland Records website. The track will officially be released 23rd of March and the album called "Nomme" will be out in april. In an interview with Synth.nu a month ago Emmon revealed that the new album will be darker and harder than the previous, but would still be very much Emmon. Thank heaven.
Distance is fantastic. 10/10. Four minutes of pure pleasure demonstrating Emmon's incredible knack for writing the perfect pop and wrapping it up in a delicious synthetic soundscape. With just the right amount of gloom to make it so much more interesting and durable than all the Britney's out there. Emmon's voice is a very important part of the package not often highlighted - strong, dark, pleasant with depth. If there is any justice in the world Emmon should top the charts.
To me The Art & The Evil was an immediate masterpiece and it took me a few more listens to "crack" the wonders of Closet Wanderings. If Distance is an indicator for the coming album great things are going to happen.
